Loads of LEGO for Loads of Kids

Collingwood Toy Library is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization, started in 1992 by a group of parents who were faced with the financial burden of buying toys to meet the changing needs of their children at each stage of their development. This solved the problem for the whole community by making it possible for everyone to borrow toys instead.
By enabling families to borrow rather than buy, we assist families' sustainability both financially as well as environmentally. By making these resources available we help families meet the changing needs of their children at each stage of development and encourage positive adult/child interactions through play.
We’re a vital part of the community with over 800 local children from over 550 member families using the service.
Kids (small, and big) love LEGO Duplo! We know this for sure because our Duplo sets are amongst our most frequently borrowed toys.
The wealth of developmental outcomes include:
- building fine motor muscles and skills
- learning to be creative thinkers and problem solvers through open-ended constructive play
- increasing their spatial awareness and three-dimensional thinking as they play
- improving young children’s focus and concentration
- early acquisition of a rich foundation vocabulary relating to spatial relationships
- helping children to grasp basic engineering concepts
The LEGO Duplo sets that we have received from Good360 will be loved by many children in the coming years. Thank you
