We ran a Christmas Gift Mart on December 9th, inviting people from our community who are struggling to provide gifts for their children this Christmas. We obtained referrals from the Aboriginal Family Legal Services, Mission Australia, and local chaplains, and estimate that more than 30 families came through. Over 170 toys were given out throughout the morning, including donations from Good360 and our church! Many people remarked how they would not have had the finances to purchase any toys for their kids this year.
Participants also got to connect with representatives from Mission Australia and AFLS, and we anticipate that further support will be given to these families in the coming weeks.
All in all, it was a great morning, and many people left with a big smile on their faces!
