Strong Beginnings

Laidley Community Centre has been working with local group, Together4Lockyer, to create family wellbeing packs for families with children (aged birth to five) living in the region. This is part of our goal to give every child in the area a strong start to school.

The addition of the Huggies Nappy packs that we received from Good360, have been a great way of letting the community know that we have these on hand at the community centre for families experiencing crisis.

We launched these packs full of information on local services, the importance of learning through play and early literacy supports at our first Messy Play Day event for the year. Families in attendance got to spend time making take home play packs, creating art and dancing with eight different support services in the region.

We’ve already had families in need access nappies from the centre. It’s wonderful to be able to provide this support to families who are so appreciative of this small but significant gift.
