The things we take for granted

For most of us, Christmas time is a time for something special, some treats, a little bit of excess. For many of the residents in our Community Housing, Christmas is just another day. In particular we find many of the men in our communities go without.
Our 'Hand to Man' bags was an initiative that we started three years ago. These bags are a small gesture with a big message. They aim to bring a little joy to some of the men in our housing who are without supports or family. But their message is big and clear - we see you and we are here for you.

Our Housing Chaplains distribute the bags to the men they have been supporting throughout the year. We fund the bags from small donations from partners, from staff members and local companies. So far, every year has been different. We never know where the money will come from. This year we have been able to count on Good360 and Colgate for body wash and toothpaste and its much appreciated. Thank you!
