The Senior Men's Empower Packs were a big hit with our senior men. At East Creek Community centre we run a program for seniors 60 plus to reduce social isolation called the Older Person's Action Program (OPAP). One of the activities we run each week is a walking group. Pictured here are Ray and Rick (in the red) along with (from left) Sally, Bea and Andras. The packs were just in time for Christmas and a welcome gift after such a difficult year.
The rest of the packs were distributed among our OPAP participants, some going home to husbands and a few even to Granddads. Some of the packs went to our Stroke and Brain Injury Support Group as well. One of the recipients said, "it's so nice to think that others are thinking of us, especially at this time of year. It gives me some hope that next year will be better."
