Ready-Set-Ride - Freedom Wheels Biking

Shirley* (not her real name) is a happy, bright 4-year old enjoys Puzzles, Drawing and Cola. Shirley lives with a condition that causes her to have problems with coordination and also affects her ability to balance.

Mum was looking for a solution for Shirley to enable her to be more inclusive with Family and Friends, allowing her to get out and about more often. Samantha explored many options, however nothing seemed to click.

Fortunately, her friend recommended TADSA's (Technology for Ageing and Disability) Freedom Wheels Bicycle Experience. She then contacted Ralph at TADSA, organised an Assessment where they got Shirley to trial a Bike with outriggers and Foot Cups.

When describing Shirley’s experience with TADSA, her Mum Samantha said, “The whole thing was a delightful experience. With the help and support of TADSA’s technical Volunteers, Shirley was riding the customised Bike with confidence within a very short time.” “Shirley hasn’t ridden a Bike before, and seeing her daughters' obvious delight was so exciting for us all”. Shirley now takes her new Bike down to the local Park with her Family and Carers to enjoy more exciting Bike Rides.

Good360 and all generous donors' products are a great way for us to protect our Volunteers and Clients during this Pandemic and to Thank them for their dedication and support, and to surprise and delight our Parents and Carers who often don't get a chance to treat themselves.
