Studio Purpose – Homeless Youth Project

Habitat for Humanity is working on a cross-agency project called Studio Purpose to address the shortage of safe Accommodation for Young People in the Murray Bridge, South Australia area who are at risk of being Homeless.

We are building/renovating two Semi-detached Homes to provide four Self-contained, fully furnished Units for short term rent by Youth aged 15–21 in Murray Bridge and aiming to complete the project by June 2021.

Once built, the Units will be much more than just a warm Bed and a welcoming space. The Studio Purpose Team will work with Clients to provide practical support and coaching required for successful living beyond the short term, so Thank You APT, the Compendiums will come in handy for keeping notes.

The Youth come into our purpose-built Accommodation with little more than a few personal items. The Koh & SC Johnson Cleaning Products & Personal Hygiene Items generously provided by Good360 and the Donors will be placed as a Welcome Pack every time a new Client moves into the Units so they can care for themselves and their Accommodation.

The benefit of the Program we offer with the short term Accommodation is that we set them up for when they leave, as these Donations and the Crockery, Cutlery, and Linen will go with them to give them a fresh start in their long-term Accommodation.

Pictured here is our Executive Director – Ben Sarre, delivering the Products to one of our delighted Project Partners from Studio Purpose at Murray Bridge. Thank You.
