Sanitiser products great for the community

East Creek Community Centre is a neighbourhood centre situated in Toowoomba. We provide lots of services to the community including social support, food relief, older persons program, community literacy program, computer IT lessons, stroke and brain injury support group and activity groups including crochet, blanket making, walking, artablity and craft. We have a wide variety of people attend the centre, all ages and back grounds. The recent donation of sanitisation products was very useful. With a recent COVID-19 scare nearby, we were able to distribute them to our community many of whom are struggling financially for free. The goods disappeared very quickly and people were very appreciative.

Bea, our older persons program coordinator, is pictured with the items that were left after just two days. People not only got items for themselves, a couple of people got products for neighbours that were ill and unable to leave the house. People who received the products said "this is great just what I needed, but I wasn't able to buy the sanitiser as I am a bit short this week" and " this is great, I can save some money too, I really needed this" also" I will take this, I need to make sure I am cleaning my hands regularly and have a mask on hand, wonderful!" The products really happened at just the right time and the community were really grateful.
