Empowering Christmas

The Brisbane Basket Brigade (BBB) is part of a national charity run through the Magic Moments Foundation, and is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers.

We work throughout the year to raise money and procure gifts such as food, clothing, toys and personal items. These are packaged into gift baskets which are delivered anonymously to underprivileged individuals and families at Christmas time. These are people within the Brisbane area who are living in financial distress or are in other ways disadvantaged. We work closely with grass-roots community organisations, who nominate deserving recipients, particularly targeting those people who do not usually seek charity, and who might otherwise fall through the gaps – families, children, the elderly and the homeless.

Our 2020 BBB Packing Day was a huge success. We achieved;
• 1530 Family and single baskets.
• 390 Homeless bags.

This consisted of;
• ~30 TONNES of food redistributed to families in need!
• 12,000 gifts wrapped!
• 70 organisations nominated recipients to us
• 4700 RECIPIENTS were reached just in time for Christmas!!
• Over 2000 volunteers joined us on our Packing Weekend.

The Empower Packs we received from Good360 will go towards the thousands of Christmas Gifts that the Brisbane Basket Brigade gives away each year to those families that are in need of a helping hand at Christmas.
