Community Engagement

The Leichhardt Baptist Church has set a vision to meet the many and varied needs of our local community. With such a variety of needs, it can be difficult to know where to start and what to start with. Thankfully, with the help of Good360 and its generous partners, we have found that starting place.
Some of our church congregation volunteer regularly at the local primary school. Over time we have been able to develop a good working relationship with the staff, who introduced us to families that they know are doing it tough. We then start to build a relationship with the parent, seeking to understand their situation, how they got to that point, and what resources they may need in order to move forward. Sometimes those needs require us to refer them to other organisations that specialise in their particular requirements. However, many times all that is required is a listening ear and a small amount of assistance.
Through the help of Good360, we are now able to supply cleaning goods and baby products that help take some of the burden off of the family budget. Items such as Spray and Wipe and Baby Wipes, although needed, can mean the difference between having a cheap meal and a decent meal. Being able to supply these to families becomes invaluable, and helps to continue to develop friendships between the people involved in helping.
