Care Packs

Our funeral parlour is a not for profit and services the local community by providing at cost funerals and support for families unable to afford funerals. Grieving during lockdowns and throughout the pandemic has been especially difficult for families. Not only due to deaths as a result of COVID-19 but also being unable to mourn and grieve normally. Lockdowns prevented many families from attending funerals due to border closures and quarantine requirements. Additionally, not all family members were able to attend due to limits on numbers or as a result of being close contacts. Death is difficult under normal circumstances but was made worse during the last 2 years. We supported many families who were unable to pay for funerals for financial reasons. The personal care products, toys and shirts we received from Good360 were turned into care packs and distributed to families who experienced a death. These families were experiencing difficult times in addition to the loss of a loved one, and our organisation wanted to assist these families and make them feel cared for and supported. Jewish families stay home for 7 days and mourning following the death of a close relative and these care packs provided items to assist during this time and bring a small piece of happiness to a very sad time.
