Our first donation from Good360 and Big W was a generous collection of clothing and shoes. This was a warm welcome to two groups of newly arrived students and their families from Ghana. Ghana has a tropical climate so Adelaide winters come as quite a shock to the system!
Jackets, dressing gowns, shoes and more were distributed across three families from Adelaide's northern suburbs, much to their delight. When students come on international programs funds are tight and these items of clothing had a great impact on their comfort and budget.
We also received a shipment of four boxes of LEGO which have been allocated to a new childcare centre in Adelaide's Western suburbs. Early in May, we were approached by a lady in our op shop looking for toys to help build children's dexterity and fine motor skills, as she found that many of the younger children in the centre had been spending a lot of time on mobile screens and lacked the fine motor skills usually present at ages 2-4. Much of their funding hadn't come through so they were scouring op shops looking for affordable ways to stock the centre. We donated a large number of toys and books from our store as well as the much appreciated LEGO.
Thank you Good360, Big W and LEGO for your generous support.
