Marking 10 years of research participation

These four children have participated in ENDIA (a cohort study looking into the causes of type 1 diabetes) since before they were born, or very young babies. This involved a study visit every 3-6 months to provide biological samples like swabs, urine, stool and blood, as well as questionnaires completed by mum.
Now they are 10 years old. This is the end of their ENDIA journey. But what a contribution they have each made to this research! Around 24 study visits and the equivalent number of each sample including blood tests; this deserves a medal (which they proudly wore)!
It was the greatest pleasure to give these special young people a gift to say "thank you" for all they have done to help find the cause/s of type 1 diabetes.
These four children (two from Adelaide and two from Melbourne) were the first to "graduate" from this national study. They were absolutely thrilled to each receive their own special LEGO sets. We were all a bit teary to see them go as it's been such a privilege to watch them grow and develop into the wonderful children they are.
Many thanks to Good360 and LEGO
