Optus & AnglicareSA Keeping Teens Connected

AnglicareSA opted to use the Optus Donate-Your-Data SIMs through our Financial Counselling services. Often our customers were having to decide between topping up their phone with credit, putting petrol in their cars, or buying meat in their grocery shop. Having the option to relieve that pressure from their budget with 12 months of phone credit and data has been an invaluable support.

Lisa* is an existing customer of our Financial Counselling services and is a single mother after escaping a domestic violence relationship. She has three children that catch the bus to school and was unable to consistently top up their phones with credit or data. Her children were often embarrassed by the social implications of not being able to use their phone at the same frequency as their friends. An AnglicareSA Financial Counsellor set up Lisa and her three teenage children with 12-month Optus Donate-Your-Data SIM cards. This provides huge relief for Lisa when her children are travelling on public transport, knowing they can contact her at any time.

We have seen a real positive impact in the lives of young adults and teens who are in families experiencing financial instability. The consistency of the credit and data on their phone, provides them with a sense of independence and security. Furthermore, they witness the stability gained for their guardians who no longer need to add this to their expenses during a time of uncertainty.
