Smile on your dial

As a worker in the homeless field with past life experience of being homeless as a teenager, I know how much it means to one self to be able to brush your hair and clean your teeth when not privileged to showering facilities. It makes you feel at least half human in the world of homelessness.

Sometimes it’s the simple things in life that builds confidence and for the homeless people that we work with at Life Without Barriers. We found they were very happy to be able to get access to toothpaste and other basic hygiene essentials.

One client commented “it allows me to talk to people with a smile on my dial”.

Giving toothpaste to some of the homeless clients allowed conversations to occur around dental care, from these conversations we have had quite a few clients referred and followed through for dental work under the SA Homeless Dental Program.

Thank you Good360 and Colgate for your donations and support to the less fortunate members in our Riverland SA region.
