Caring for young people in Tough Times

Mid Connect supports young people to help them into work or study. The personal care items provided by Good360 have been distributed to those affected by the bushfires as well as the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Spee family lost their home in the Bobin fire and are slowly rebuilding their lives with help from the community. Mid Coast Connect’s Pathways Coordinator, Brooke, has worked to support Laura and Will through this traumatic time.

‘’We were starting with nothing and people take for granted the regular shower, environments which made us feel ‘human’ when you feel like you’ve been through the wringer.”

Other items from Good360 have been used to make up goodie bags for distribution to young people who are looking for work.
COVID-19 has severely impacted the youth job market and we have increased numbers of students who have left school early as they struggled to cope with remote learning.

Being able to help them with their personal presentation has assisted the young people to feel better about themselves as well as making a good first impression when speaking with potential employers.

Mid Coast Connect is very grateful for the opportunity to make life a little easier for our young people who have been experiencing tough times. Thank you Good360 and Colgate for the generosity shown to our community.
