Legal Eagles Running to protect the Wild

EDO Tasmania is a non-profit public interest environmental law service, providing assistance to community members looking to protect places that they love. As our main annual fundraising event, we enter a team in the Point to Pinnacle half marathon – a great opportunity to promote our work, get fit, raise funds, and highlight the importance of conservation issues.

Members of our team help us to raise critical funds to keep our service going. This year, we were delighted to be able to offer the women who’d been part of our team free Skins singlets or shorts to thank them for their efforts. Sally said “I really loved being involved in Team EDO – it was such a great vibe running up the mountain, and receiving the singlet was a lovely surprise that will make running even easier next time!”

Like most not-for-profit organisations, EDO Tasmania relies on volunteers – to assist with admin and research, help at events, or to be part of our management committee. This year, we were excited to be able to put together some Christmas thank-you packs, including luxurious L'Oréal face creams from the generous donors at Good360.

One long-term Committee member said “I don’t volunteer with EDO Tasmania for reward – I do it because I love the organisation and the work it does. But it’s still really nice to receive a gift like that and know that my efforts are appreciated.”
