Dressing for Success

Isela’s career as a foreign exchange specialist and mentor, would come to an abrupt halt in March 2020. A booming travel industry was quickly crumbling and making swift redundancies, including Isela. No notice, no support package. Having recently immigrated from the UK, and originally from South America, Isela missed her family. Luckily, she had her husband’s support and together, they were able to supplement some lost income through Airbnb, until that too stopped. Lost, despondent, and locked down, Isela would find and lose another job before she found Dress for Success Sydney.
Isela attended her first Dress for Success workshop on resilience and loved every minute of it. Diving into the Career Support Program Isela enrolled in more online workshops attended a weekly networking session, and qualified for the one-on-one coaching program.
Through tailored coaching and countless interviews, Isela landed a position and has been working since as a Customer Service Officer at a bank. Additionally, she graduated with a Diploma in Leadership Management from the Institute of Learning and Further Education. With reflection, Isela says she’s learned that she wasn’t ready to give up, but she just needed a little bit of support that Dress for Success was able to provide.
We wish to thank Good360, Big W, Lush, and Gildan for the awesome donation of cosmetics, clothing and much more to help us assist these beautiful ladies
