Sim card to job success

Emma, Tyler & Billy are participants in our Step into Success Program. Step into Success helps 15 to 25-year-olds prepare for work and find jobs. They were recently the recipients of OPTUS Sim cards. Emma, Tyler & Billy do not have access to data and must rely on free data such as at McDonald’s or the local shopping centers. This makes it very difficult to follow up important phone calls or when they are trying to apply for jobs, upload documents and submit applications for employment. Civil Geotechnical Consultants generously donated iPads for our participants. The iPads are fantastic but using them with data is amazing! Not only will our young people now be able to apply for jobs and look for work, but they also now have access to programs on the internet that can help them build their resumes and work on their dreams. Emma is going to use the data to begin an online portfolio of sketches and drawings that she can upload directly to employers when applying for an apprenticeship as a tattoo artist. Tyler will use the data to help navigate bus routes and apply for jobs. This will make it easier for Tyler as she has 2 small children. For Billy, the data has helped him to look things up on Google and has his resume and cover letter stored with his data so that he won’t lose them. Billy is also excited to use the data for emails and to make calls to his family and friends
Thank you Good360 and Optus for giving our participants an opportunity to have a successful future.
