Christmas can be a tough time for many, and it can be even harder when you're a member of a vulnerable community without the resources of the big city. Many from our area are still recovering from the February floods, with widespread homelessness, unemployment and the loss of possessions. Add to this the unsustainable costs of rent and basic living expenses, our community is confronted with a joyless Christmas.
Our neighbourhood Christmas event creates a space for whole community connectedness, sharing and the celebration of togetherness and community resilience. We are a neighbourhood of colour, but so often our light is dimmed by the stigma of crime, addiction and domestic and family violence. Often, the small gift the children receive at this event is the only present they open. These toys help us make Christmas a time of celebration for families facing adversity. Inspiring hope this festive season.

About Our Charity
Gailes Community House is a small Neighbourhood centre operating for 21 years. We have many social groups and activities, family and parenting programs, and our biggest need is Emergency relief.
