Big thanks to Good360 Australia for allowing Flagstaff to receive donated LEGO packs of emergency vehicles. The awesome LEGO was used to reinforce Flagstaff’s emergency messaging for our new EMBER program that aims to prepare people with disability for emergencies and disasters. Participants at the Life Choices Hub had a workshop on how to prepare for an emergency and what to pack if they must evacuate.
The participants also received an emergency Go Backpack full of things you need in an emergency, checklists, and information you may need in case of a natural disaster. The LEGO can be used as a sensory activity to calm people down when there is a fire or flood.
