Turning the Christmas Frown, upside Down!

Community Care operates as an arm of It’s Not OK Projects supporting the Community with emergency food hampers, low-cost homewares, furniture, and clothing. At Christmas, we provide hundreds of food hampers to our community and many of these families need Christmas gifts for their children.
LEGO sets were given to families of those experiencing domestic violence, mental health challenges, disabilities, and a home fire victim. One lady said she had recently moved from another state because of DV and the children had left all their toys behind. They were so excited to receive the generous LEGO sets. Another lady lives with her extended family and supports her grandmother with a disability. With the cost of living increasing, Christmas was not looking so good. We were able to gift LEGO to their 5 children. Another guy on a disability pension, couldn’t afford a present for his son. We were able to give him LEGO and restore his dignity. A victim of a house fire who lost everything was able to benefit from LEGO sets as gifts for the children.
“Being relocated is so hard and this is not the first time I’ve had to do this. I can’t believe your generosity and kindness. Makes me think I might get through this.” Anon
57 LEGO gifts were given. The remainder will be given to those in financial hardship when children have birthdays.
Thank you to Good360 and LEGO Australia for their generosity and support.
