A client who is currently struggling with homelessness, mental health and lack of ID presented to ac.care's Aboriginal Services. While the support worker knows these donations will not fix the client's situation, he expressed multiple times how grateful he was to receive these items. A couple of T-shirts and some hygiene items such as a shaver, washing powder and toothpaste were given to the client. According to data from the "Dropping off the Edge" report 2021, Murray Bridge is in band 1 which shows severe disadvantage. The community experiences persistent disadvantages that limit people's outcomes and opportunities. South Australia, most disadvantaged areas are in regional parts disadvantaged areas lie in the regional and remote areas on multiple indicators throughout the report. Issues around lack of access and flexibility in service provision came up in consultation due to the barrier of distance from major cities. Interestingly, the largest contributor under the social distress domain was the lack of adequate internet access, which is crucial for access to a range of government services.
